This past weekend, I celebrated another successful year of providing on-site support for the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco, CA.
Outside Lands uses the power of Marcato to efficiently manage and track back of house access, parking, and catering credentials for artists, production staff, industry guests, sponsors, vendors, and more! Additionally, they rely on our intelligent catering tool to provide accurate data to their catering partners in regards to meal guarantees, saving the OSL team from overordering and overspending.
Marcato’s form builder also played a vital role in streamlining press applications and accreditations for this year’s event! With the ability to host live applications on their website that fed directly into Marcato’s centralized database, the OSL team was able to seamlessly accept, approve, and advance media applications so press credentials were appropriately allocated.
My time at the festival site this year was split between credential check-in locations, and staff and artist catering areas. My job was to monitor these respective systems to ensure seamless operation, from helping credential managers with credential requests, changes, and more to scanning staff into catering tents to eat!
By far, one of the coolest things about Outside Lands is the location! Location, location, location! Golden Gate Park is such an amazing site for a festival, and Outside Lands takes full advantage of this by structuring their event to make the best use of every inch of the park. In my free time, I was pumped to get to see performances from Paul Simon and Kasey Musgraves. I was also a huge fan of all that “Beer Lands” and “Wine Lands” had to offer; what an amazing collection of vendors with incredible food and beverage options.
Marcato is proud to be a partner of the Outside Lands Festival, helping them streamline their operations to make their event bigger and better year after year. It was a pleasure, as always being on-site for this one of a kind event.
