This past weekend, I had the pleasure of providing on-site support at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) by ReedPOP. Held annually in Chicago, C2E2 is the largest pop culture convention in the Midwest, featuring the best in comics, anime, video games, books, movies, and television. Marcato continues to be a proud technology partner with ReedPOP in the production of this epic event, alongside three other products from the Patron Technology family! Marcato was implemented by the ReedPOP team to help streamline their convention operations in a few key areas:
For an event as large as C2E2, you know there will be a vast array of fantastic panels for attendees to experience. To help streamline the panel application process for the event, ReedPOP utilized Marcato’s public web forms to accept applications from a large number of applicants through their official site. With the Marcato database full of applications, the ReedPOP team was able to easily review submitted content, and approve which panels they wanted to include in their event program!
With a wide variety of exhibitors, panels, and guests, attendees needed an easy way to access important event information to make the most out of their experience. Enter the C2E2 companion app! Created by fellow Patron Technology product Greencopper, the C2E2 mobile app allowed attendees to view the latest details on the program schedule, exhibitor exclusives, and artist alley booth information. Seamlessly integrated with Greencopper, Marcato acted as the central data hub for managing all of C2E2’s public-facing content. This information was then pushed directly to the C2E2 app, including on the fly content changes made on-site.
Utilizing Marcato’s industry-leading credential management tools, the ReedPOP team was able to assign credentials to speakers and industry guests. Then, through Marcato’s powerful integration with ShowClix, these approved credentials automatically synced to their on-site fulfillment tool, streamlining issuance. Once on-site, industry guests were able to easily pick up their passes at will-call and be scanned into the main floor.
As the designated on-site team member for Marcato, it was incredible to see our integrations with Greencopper and ShowClix work so seamlessly in real-time. I also had the pleasure of working closely with fellow Patron Technology team members from Thuzi, who helped the ReedPOP team create an unforgettable attendee experience with their experiential marketing solution. Watching attendees win prizes with Thuzi’s various brand activations on-site was a major highlight for me. But l have to say, my favorite moment of the entire event was meeting a full-sized Chewbacca and shaking hands with none other than Baby Yoda!
