Road Journal: Bonnaroo

This past week, I had the pleasure of providing on-site support for the Credentials and Catering departments at the 2019 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.

The Bonnaroo team leverages the power of Marcato to manage and administer back of house credentials for industry guests, production staff, volunteers, vendors, and more! They also rely heavily on our system to provide accurate data to their catering partners by tracking artist and staff catering. My primary role as on-site support was to ensure these systems were running efficiently so event staff could issue credentials and meals with confidence. I found myself floating between off-site and box office check-in locations, and the various staff and artist catering tents.

One of the best things about working on-site at a festival like Bonnaroo is the amazing lineup of performers, and the overall vibe of the event. This year I was stoked to see shows from a wide variety of artists like Post Malone, Rival Sons, Phish, Odesza, John Prine, and more! The pyrotechnics incorporated in a few of the headlining acts was really incredible to witness. I would also be remiss not to mention the incredible variety of vendors and delicious food options available under the hot Tennessee sun.

When you see the scale of an event like Bonnaroo and realize that Marcato is such an integral part of their event operations process, you can’t help but radiate all the positivity in the world!

Before signing off, I’d like to give a shout out to the Credentials team (Emily, Jayne, Wes, Allie, and crew) — you are all incredible at what you do, and it shows! And to the Catering team (EJ, Paris, Kat, and crew) — thanks for being so great and keeping all of us fed, so we could fend off the “hangry” vibes over the course of the production run.
